Biggest room count in our guide: 758, across two towers, most of them aimed at the Detroit skyline. Then there's the Colosseum, 5,000 seats with none beyond 225 feet; a floor listed at 2,000-plus slots and 80-plus tables; and a downtown Windsor address you can simply walk out of.

Ideal for: Gig weekends and downtown city breaks for couples who like choosing between many room types.
Look elsewhere if: The children are counting on a swim — only adults may use the indoor pool.

Why book it

Two towers, one river, one skyline. Caesars Windsor puts 758 rooms on Riverside Drive in downtown Windsor, split between the Augustus Tower (pitched by the resort at families) and the older Forum Tower. Most of what you pay for is the window: Detroit, across the water.

Rooms worth asking for

The base Resort Room measures about 402 sq ft — king bed, generous desk, bathtub and shower kept apart, river outlook. All 758 rooms entered a renovation announced in 2018; the Forum Tower's were done by September 2019, with new carpet and bedding and 55-inch screens. Upgrades: Resort Deluxe Suite (wet bar, whirlpool tub); Junior Suite (its own living room, a whirlpool only on the Forum side); Executive Suite (five-piece marble ensuite, TV inside the mirror, butler entrance, a fireplace in some).

Budget note: when we priced a stay, the booking page added $23.40 a night as a resort fee, settled at checkout.

Friday night on the floor

The resort's August 2023 fact sheet lists 2,000-plus slots and 80-plus tables, a dedicated World Series of Poker room, a Caesars Sportsbook of 1,700 sq ft with 22 big screens, and what it then billed as Ontario's only live craps game. Gaming and the bars are 19+. Caesars Rewards members get first shot at Colosseum presales.

Saturday: dinner, then a show

Neros Steakhouse is the dress-up dinner; the rest is easy-going — Spago Trattoria for family-style Italian, Johnny Rockets, Legends Sports Bar, Café 377 (breakfast, lunch) and, on the Forum Tower's main floor, a Tim Hortons that never closes. Local bands play Cosmos Lounge on Fridays and Saturdays; Vu Bar is the skyline drink. The nightclub is gone: ARIIUS relocated to Ouellette Avenue in January 2026.

The Colosseum is the draw — 5,000 seats, the farthest 225 feet away, and, since a July 2026 announcement, all ages unless a show says otherwise. On the calendar when we checked: Alice Cooper, Friday, November 6, 2026.

Sunday morning, slowly

Adults only at the indoor pool, which has a big whirlpool, loungers and towels. Sauna and fitness room are for hotel guests. No spa turned up in the current amenity list.

Logistics

  • Check-in 4 pm; check-out 11 am.
  • Airport: Windsor International, a short taxi.
  • Garage: six levels at 257 Glengarry Avenue, fully reopened July 8, 2026 after a year-plus of repairs.
  • From Detroit: Tunnel Bus (privately run), stop at McDougall and University; $15, cashless.

Our call

A Colosseum weekend, or two nights downtown with plenty of options, works best for couples. Families can base themselves in the Augustus Tower, but plan swims elsewhere.

Is the Caesars Windsor pool off-limits to kids?

Yes. The fact sheet calls it an adult-only indoor pool with a whirlpool hot tub.

Under 19 — can I still see a Colosseum show?

Generally yes. In July 2026 the resort said Colosseum shows are all ages unless one is marked otherwise; the casino and its outlets stay 19+.
