Six weighted criteria decide each score. Rooms and views carry the most weight, then the casino floor and dining, followed by shows, the pool and spa, and ease of access. Every fact is taken from the hotel's own website or a source we name. See the full method.

Where's the best casino-hotel weekend in Canada?

Our scoring puts Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls on top: 372 rooms laid out for the falls, 3,200-plus slots and 110 tables, a 5,000-seat stage called the OLG Stage, and more than 20 restaurants.

What's the newest casino hotel in the country?

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa — 150 rooms, open since July 3, 2025. The one before it was the hotel at Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto, which opened August 1, 2023.

How old must you be for a Canadian casino?

Provinces set it. Ontario, British Columbia and New Brunswick, like most, say 19; Alberta, Manitoba and Québec say 18.

Can I bring the kids on a casino-hotel weekend?

Usually. Age limits apply to gaming floors and to some bars and venues, not whole buildings. The notable exception is Hard Rock Ottawa, which is 19+ throughout, rooms included.
