Province guide
Ontario casino-hotel weekends
Last revised · facts verified
Ontario offers the most casino-hotel weekends in the country and the widest spread of styles. Pick from falls-view towers in Niagara, a downtown riverfront resort with Detroit on the far bank, a new racetrack-side complex in Toronto, Ottawa's adults-only Hard Rock or a lake-country resort outside Orillia. OLG runs gaming province-wide, the AGCO regulates it, and the door age is 19.

Fallsview Casino Resort
Think of it as Canada's default casino weekend. You get 372 rooms angled at the falls, a floor of 3,200-plus slots and 110 tables, the OLG Stage for 5,000 plus the Avalon, and some 20-odd restaurants. Nobody else in the country pairs that scale with that window.
Caesars Windsor
Biggest room count in our guide: 758, across two towers, most of them aimed at the Detroit skyline. Then there's the Colosseum, 5,000 seats with none beyond 225 feet; a floor listed at 2,000-plus slots and 80-plus tables; and a downtown Windsor address you can simply walk out of.
Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto
Opened in 2023 beside Woodbine Racetrack, it's the newest large resort around Toronto: 400 rooms, a 5,000-capacity theatre, pool plus sauna and steam, free parking and a no-charge Pearson shuttle. The operator's own claim is more slot choice than anywhere else in Canada.
Casino Rama Resort
Casino Rama, on Rama First Nation land near Orillia, is mid-way through its biggest refresh in years — rooms renovated floor by floor from 2025, a ground-floor spa, and three new restaurants headed by Gateway's Atlas Steak and Fish. The 5,000-plus-seat Entertainment Centre still brings headliners up Highway 400.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa
Open since July 3, 2025, this is the newest hotel we cover and Canada's first fully integrated Hard Rock resort: 150 rooms (22 suites), a never-closing casino with 1,500-plus slots, Council Oak steaks and Hard Rock LIVE for up to 2,200. The age rule is simple — 19+, everywhere.

Two more Ontario options sit on our new openings page until we write them up: Pickering Casino Resort, east of Toronto, whose 275-room hotel opened in January 2023, and Great Blue Heron Casino & Hotel near Port Perry, where the hotel was completed in November 2021.
