Five Canadian casino hotels have opened since 2020. Two more are under construction, and several older resorts are in the middle of serious refits. Each entry below gives the opening date and room count as stated by the operator or a named report, plus the link we checked it against.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa
$350 million rebuild of the Rideau Carleton site; Hard Rock's first fully integrated Canadian resort. Casino open 24/7 with 1,500-plus slots, Council Oak steakhouse, Hard Rock LIVE up to 2,200. Entire property 19+.

Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto
Former Casino Woodbine, rebuilt as a resort by Woodbine Racetrack: theatre for up to 5,000, pool with sauna and steam room, free parking, free Pearson shuttle.

Pickering Casino Resort Hotel
Part of Great Canadian's $500 million Pickering resort, east of Toronto. Rooms 388–775 sq ft, 22 accessible; the casino opened with 2,200 slots and 90-plus live tables; arena-theatre seats 2,500.

Great Blue Heron Casino & Hotel
The Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation casino declared its hotel complete on November 1, 2021. Counts differ — Wikipedia 100, travel listings 116, the operator's page silent. The Nest hosts up to 800.

Dakota Dunes Resort
Whitecap Dakota First Nation owns it, Atlific Hotels manages it, and it's attached to Dakota Dunes Casino about 20 minutes south of Saskatoon. Ribbon cut October 8, 2020; 10,000 sq ft of meeting space; farm-to-table dining.

Under construction
River Cree hotel tower
Addition to today's 249-room hotel: 18 storeys, roughly 230–240 rooms, 30-plus suites, a two-waterslide pool, a big ballroom. Exterior completed June 2026.

Cascades Casino and Hotel Innisfil
Gateway's planned successor to its Georgian Downs casino, per BlogTO (September 2026): 1,000-plus slots, live tables, a seven-storey hotel, around 150,000 sq ft overall.

- Casino Rama Resort — Rooms being renovated since 2025; new ground-floor spa; Chow (fall 2024), MATCH (May 2025), Atlas Steak and Fish (November 2025).
- River Rock Casino Resort — 2024 upgrades for the 20th anniversary, Gordon Ramsay Steak included; KOI sushi (2026); new ownership as of June 2026.
- Grey Eagle Resort & Casino — Casino renovation in phases, 2026–2027; pool closed during the works; buffet shuts January 2027.
- Caesars Windsor — Six-level garage back in full use July 8, 2026; nightclub relocated off site, January 2026.
