Family-friendly casino hotels in Canada

Last revised · facts verified

Yes, you can take the family. In most places the age rule fences off the gaming floor and a few bars, not the whole hotel. What changes is how much there is for kids to do once you're there — and, at one resort, whether they get past the front door. Ranked from most to least kid-friendly:

  1. River Cree Resort & Casino8.0

    Enoch (Edmonton), Alberta

Twin NHL-size rinks with public skating, a pool and whirlpool, a Luxury Family Suite and a free shuttle to West Edmonton Mall, about five minutes away. Since July 29, 2024, under-18s with an adult can use every non-gaming area. No Canadian casino resort does more for children.

  2. Fallsview Casino Resort9.3

    Niagara Falls, Ontario

Only the casino is off-limits; the rest of the property welcomes kids, and under-12s can swim with a parent. Clifton Hill, Bird Kingdom and the Butterfly Conservatory are close by — and the falls outside the window do plenty on their own.

  3. Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto8.7

    Toronto, Ontario

A guest of 19+ makes the booking; children can stay in the room. The 2-Bedroom Suite sleeps six and has a microwave and fridge, there's a pool with a hot tub, and Woodbine's races next door are usually free to watch.

  4. River Rock Casino Resort8.5

    Richmond, British Columbia

A pool with a water slide, restaurants flagged as all-ages, and the Canada Line for car-free days out in Vancouver. One rule: the guest checking in must be 19 or older.

  5. Casino New Brunswick7.2

    Moncton, New Brunswick

Children stay with an adult, and the pool requires supervision for under-12s. Magnetic Hill, its zoo and Hopewell Rocks turn Moncton into a good stop on a family road trip.

  6. Grey Eagle Resort & Casino7.8

    Calgary (Tsuut'ina Nation), Alberta

Standard Two Queen rooms are pitched at families, Event Centre shows admit all ages, and Calgary Zoo and Heritage Park are close. With the pool shut for renovation, guests get free passes to city pools.

Where kids can't go

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa is 19+ from the front door in — hotel, restaurants and casino alike. Caesars Windsor is a halfway case: its Augustus Tower is billed as family-friendly and Colosseum shows are all ages, but the pool admits adults only.
